Mechanical(HVAC) Engineer

-Provide technical expertise support to project management activities through all phases of projects, Engineering, Procurement, Construction/Installation, Pre­-commissioning, Commissioning and Hand-over of Project facilities to End Users.
-Develop and elaborates the Scope of Work (SOW) for consultants and/or engineering contractors and review /approve the design works of HVAC/PIPING system vendors/engineering contractors to ensure that they are in accordance with the scope of work. .
-Design in-house engineered works including drawing, specifications/data sheets, material requisition and bills of quantities.
-Review/Perform design of HVAC/PIPING equipment including drawing, specifications/data sheets, material requisition and bills of quantities.
-Perform / review Cooling and Heating Load calculations and ventilation requirement, design/as-built drawings, HVAC control- and fire protection systems. Review/performs calculation of hydraulic loading for Sewage and Water Treatment plants systems.
-Select PIPING/HVAC equipment such as Chillers, AHUs, Heat Exchangers, VRV, Pumps, Blowers, Compressors, valves, vessels, pressure reducing valves and HVAC accessories (air outlets, volume dampers, fire dampers, sound attenuators, etc.)
-Perform Duct & pipe sizing/pressure drop calculation & preparation of D&ID, P&ID, Air flow diagram, General Arrangement/Isometric for ducting/piping layout.
-Provide support/hands-on for Installation, Inspecting & testing, commissioning and maintenance of HVAC/PIPING installation systems and equipment.

-responsible for the supervision of construction of mechanical works , overseeing and directing sub contractors, quality control , surveillance of design work, material supply and construction progress.

-Inter disciplinary coordination of mechanical , architectural, structural and infrastructure works and commissioning and testing of building services.

- Supervises MIG, TIG, PLASMA metal welding fabrication.

- Supervises PE/PPR/CU/UPVC/CPVC works.
-Issue and develops Company Design General Specifications (DGS), Standards, procedures and guidelines related to HVAC/PIPING for use in-house or by the Contractors with regard to projects undertaken

-Supervise a team of Junior engineers and designers in carrying out project /proposal detailed engineering works and provide necessary technical procurement assistance in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets and within budgeted cost, man-hour and project schedules.

-Supervise construction where HSE are strictly adhered to. Perform Quality Control/assurance of HVAC/PIPING installations.

-Supervise the installations of Electrical power and lighting.

-Preparing BOQ/MTO, O&M Manual of HVAC/PIPING installations. Carrying out estimates and valuations

-Review the ITB (Invitation To Bid) documents submitted in the proposals stage, issue inquiry requisitions, review techno-commercial vendor offers, prepare equipment, material and man-hour estimates.

-PerformsTechnical Bid Evaluations (TBE), review vendor drawings and documents.

-Interface and provide clarification and guidance and technical support to construction sites and commissioning engineers.

I studied mechanical Engineering at the Federal Polytechnic Idah and at the Federal University of Technology Owerri where I obtained the National Diploma and Bachelor of Engineering certificates respectively.

I worked in a Building Services Engineering Consulting and contracting sectors where I acquired experiences and knowledge in Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning (HVAC) engineering services and piping engineering services on new build and refurbishment commercial and residential projects.

Presently, I have moved to the Oil and Gas sector where I am involved in EPCC project execution of FPSO/PLATFORM living quarters as a Lead HVAC Engineer.

I am proficient in the use of Hevacomp v24 Design software, Carrier E20II, autoCAD MEP and Microsoft packages.
