Managed the implementation of SDH and PDH links using Aviat Eclispe and Trupoint microwave radio equipment (7GHz and 11GHz). The projects were implemented in the Lagos, Asaba and Bayelsa and PHC regions over ten hops. Also managed the installation of Ericsson 6100 series Radio Base Station RBS and Hawei 3900 series Base Transceiver Station and commissioning in MTN Lagos, Ogun, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Asaba, Aba etc. The BTS and RBS installation also includes the installation and commissioning of Huawei Hybrid Power system at all locations.
Also Managed the Gateway Communication CPE network expansion project which included installation of over forty Cambridge Vectastar CPE sites. Also worked on the Gateway Vectastar CPE/Base Station Re-Parenting project and Vectastar 1 to 2 CPE upgrade/swap outs.
Implementation of MTN Phase II 3G Backhaul project on behalf of Mobax Nigeria ltd. The project entailed the roll out or installation of 533 sites consisting of 452 CPE or Customer Premise Equipment and 81 Base Stations. I also managed integration of E1s from Cambridge CPEs to Ericsson and Huawei 3G-NodeBs (note CPE are tested and capable of delivering for IP connectivity). At the base station sites we are also responsible for the integration of STM1 to Ericsson DXX and Ericsson/Huawei RNC at MTN MSCs. Integration at the MSC are facilitated by Cambridge Term Blocks which will very shortly be replaced by multiprotocol aggregators. Setup and managed MTN’s first Element Managed System EMS server at Ikoyi MSC. This is currently interconnected to multiple EMS servers at six MTN regions. My team at JDTG consists of four consultants, who are certified CBNL engineers, myself inclusive. Managed training and recruitment of local staff as Vectastar installers. We installed two hundred and twenty Base Station and CPE sites for Mobax-MTN across nine regions (Lagos, PHC, Asaba, Aba, Benin, Kaduna, Abuja, Kano and Ibadan) from 2008 to 2009.
Currently managing the roll out of a national and international IP SCPC DAMA data/Voip (one million dollar) VSAT network roll out. The scope of project also includes but is not limited to international lease circuit provision using various telecommunication media such VSAT, Fiber etc. Create and defend project budgets with profitability and timely delivery in mind. Interacting with installers and external contractors utilized in these customer projects. To date I have managed several projects with values of about USD6, 000, 000.00 (Six million dollars).
Ensure that good co-operation and teamwork exists between the Network Operations Center (ALCATEL DRIVEN) and the various Area support personnel to achieve the earliest and most effective implementation and restoration of service. Ensuring conformance of all activities, performed by the Network Operations department, with GS Telecom’s corporate Quality Assurance System. Automate Service Level Agreement reports for improved GS Telecom service delivery. Total revenues accruing from my department is just over 14 million dollars. Develop and manage the Corporate IP and Internet services. Successfully managed a 0.39 million dollar Alcatel Network (Network Management and Multiplexer/Switch) upgrade project for GS Telecom from design stage to completion. Manage the Customer Service Desk process to ensure that effective and co-operative interchange of information exists between the customer and GS Telecom’s fault rectification mechanism.
