Logistics Consultant (MenAfriVac) Borno State

1. To Evaluate the logistics situation in Borno States for MenAfriVac campaign. Identify gaps and analyze the challenges.

2. To ensure that adequate logistics plans are in place for the implementation of the

campaign .

  • Ensure that Borno state have high quality cold chain plans showing adequacy of

positive cold storage capacity

  • To ensure the State, LGAs and wards have vaccine and immunization supplies

distribution plans

  • Support the SLWG to develop and implement a plan for retrieval of balance

of vaccine to be implemented after the campaign

3. Assess in collaboration with N/SLWGs; the cold chain capacity, functioning and

maintenance at the state and LGA levels. Collect any information related to the

vaccination activity at the State level, LGAs and Health Facility level and

potentially identify support needs to ensure maximum availability of cold chain

capacity for the campaign.

4. Waste management

  • To ensure Borno states have waste management plans which clearly outlined Focal persons at each level (ward, LGA and state) have been identified and informed of their roles in the waste management plan.

Waste disposal/storage sites have been identified and where more than one site is to be used, LGAs are identified for each site and appropriately informed

  • Organise and support training of personnel responsible for waste management at

state and LGA levels.

  • Support states to identify installation sites for incinerators based on agreed criteria
  • Establish mechanisms and procedures for periodic data report on waste

management activity.

5. Data Management – In charge of call-in-Data during and after implementation.
