Oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods
Overseeing stock control and processing orders
Keeping stock control systems up to date and planning future capacity requirements
Preparing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Ensures NAFDAC compliance on purchase, receipt, inspection, storage, cataloguing, inventorying, and distribution of stock commodities

Carry out routine stock count exercise and stocks auditing

Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping
Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management
Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies
Exercises general control over all activities in Stores Department
Receives, stores, and issues supplies and equipment and compiles records of supply transactions aboard ship: Verifies that supplies received are listed on requisitions and invoices
Ensures safe keeping both as to quality and quantity of materials
Maintains proper records
Initiates purchase requisitions for the replacement of stock of all regular stores items whenever the stock level of any item of store approaches the minimum limit fixed in respect thereof.
Initiates action for stoppage of further purchasing when the stock level approaches the maximum limit
Checks and receives purchased materials forwarded by the receiving department and to arrange for the storage in appropriate places
Reserves a particular stock for a specific supply when so required
Issues materials only in required quantities against authorized requisition notes/material lists
Checks the book balances, with the actual physical stock at frequent intervals by way of internal control over wrong issues, pilferage, etc
