Responsible for supervision and management of site operations, survey equipment, management of junior technicians and providing support and advice to Project Managers on their survey programmes. Kevin is a qualified streetworks supervisor and assessor for the monitoring of excavations and reinstatements.

Senior Technician and Researcher
Responsible for managing and undertaking a number of airfields pavement surveys including sampling and testing of airfield pavement quality concrete, asphalt and cold recycled bound materials for the development of end performance specifications. Development of pavement condition index survey techniques and training of DE staff and their agents in those techniques.
Development of Pavement Management Systems for Mauritius
(2009-10) FWD assessment of 1000km of highway network.
Responsible for the management, maintenance and operation of a number of facilities including FWD, DCP, Concrete saw and Core Scanner. This includes responsibility for equipment calibration, operating and H&S procedures, logging equipment usage, and training of new operators.

Representative for Infrastructure Division at TRL on company wide form for the discussion, and development of H&S policies and procedures. Near misses and minor incidents reported, logged and acted upon prior to potentially more serious incidents.
Innovations in materials and tests
Researcher in a team undertaking trial mixes to develop concretes for specific applications, including: developing quieter concrete roads (whisper concrete); developing new methods of laying concrete pavements (ECOPAVE); developing thin concrete overlays (NEWPAVE). Sampling of cold recycled materials and development of test methods for their assessment. Development of new test methods for binder adhesion properties of high performance asphalts (SATS and heavy duty wheeltracker).
International Site Testing/Supervision
2008 Testing of 48km lane of the Kampala Northern Bypass.
Meerzog-Albina Road, Suriname
(2009)Responsible for FWD testing of 120km of major arterial highway to investigate failure of surfacing and subgrade.
Highways Agency, DFID, Area 8 and Area 3 MACs
Investigator with responsibility for coring, visual surveys and trial pit investigations to assess pavement condition and provide advice on reasons for good performance and potential failures. Responsible for producing method statements including risk assessments for site, and managing teams on site in support of many research and consultancy projects. Undertaken FWD surveys extensively in the UK and also in correlation trials in the Netherlands and testing in Uganda, Suriname and Mauritius.
