One change – whether it be a new idea, decision or habit – can be enough to completely change your life. Most of us have lifestyle habits we would like to change. Life would be richer and more productive if we took better care of our bodies, minds, and spirits. That’s because small changes, with time, can snowball into something much, much greater. Some of these small choices and new ways of looking at the world could change your life in great ways.

Get some sleep

Sleep is more important than most people realize. Sleeping poorly ruins your day. People who sleep less tend to have more symptoms of depression, lower self esteem, and more anxiety. That's why it is important to sleep 7-9 hours a day to stay healthy and productive.

Develop positive thinking

Sure, positive thinking by itself won’t lead to success, but it certainly goes a long way to motivate you to do the other things required. Start by becoming more aware of your negative self-talk — do a little tally sheet throughout the day, marking a tally each time you notice a negative thought. Soon you’ll recognize them, and you can squash them out.

Under-Promise and Over-Deliver

This is a great way to impress people. The last thing you want to do is make promises which you won’t be able to keep. At work try to go the extra mile on your projects, especially on the details many people might miss. Set reasonable deadlines for yourself and, when possible, try to get them done early.


Smile and the world smiles with you. Well not always, but a smile is a great way to break down barriers with people.

Apart from making a difference in someone else’s life and/ or helping the environment, volunteering will improve your life by helping you to meet new people, develop new skills, build self-confidence and feel valued.

Judge less, accept more

No one is perfect. Everyone has a story, a battle of some sort, that no one else knows about. Keep this in mind .

No matter what someone has done to us in the past, if we cannot learn to forgive them then our anger, bitterness and despair will control our lives.

Drink Water

Having a glass of water first thing in the morning helps rid your body of toxins that have been stored overnight. Not only does it aid your digestive tract, it also boosts your metabolism, helping you feel energized sooner. Also, you should drink a glass of water before every meal.

Get regular exercise

If there is one magic bullet for increased body and brain health, including increased memory, it is sensible regular exercise. Our brain is especially available for new learning and positive new ideas in the hours immediately following exercise.

Keep Things Tidy

Picking up, keeping things organized, and even just making the bed helps us feel better. It prepares us for visitors, helps us be more efficient, allows for a better night’s sleep, and even helps us get along with our spouse and our children better. Make it a habit to rinse the dish after you eat off it and to make your bed the moment you get up. Your day and attitude will benefit.
